Temporary Google Verification Notice for YouTube Scheduling & Publishing

Unverified app warning while you connect YouTube to Reap

Updated over a week ago

You are seeing Google’s “unverified app” warning because we are currently transitioning our YouTube publishing integration to support better quota capacity, improved reliability, and more stable scheduling and publishing. This is temporary, and you can still continue connecting your YouTube account by following the steps in this guide.

Overview

Some users may currently see a Google warning message when trying to connect their YouTube account to Reap for scheduling and publishing.

This is happening because we are in the middle of a temporary transition of our YouTube integration. During this short period, Google may show an unverified app warning before allowing the connection to continue.

This does not prevent you from using YouTube scheduling and publishing in Reap. You can still complete the connection by continuing through Google’s advanced prompt and approving the required access.

We expect this to be resolved within a few days.

Who this affects

This only affects users who want to:

  • connect a YouTube channel to Reap

  • schedule videos to YouTube

  • publish videos to YouTube from Reap

If you are not using YouTube publishing or scheduling, no action is needed.

Why this happens

We are currently transitioning our YouTube publishing integration to improve:

  • quota capacity

  • publishing stability

  • overall reliability of scheduled and published content

During this short transition, Google may temporarily show an “app hasn’t been verified” warning before allowing access.

How to continue connecting YouTube

Step 1: Click Advanced

When Google shows the warning screen, click Advanced.

Click Advanced on the Google warning screen to continue the YouTube connection process.

Step 2: Click Go to reap (Video Publisher) (unsafe)

After expanding the advanced section, click Go to reap (Video Publisher) (unsafe).

This is the option Google provides to continue connecting your account during this temporary verification period.

After opening the advanced section, click Go to reap (Video Publisher) (unsafe).

Step 3: Approve the requested YouTube access

On the final Google permissions screen, you will be asked to approve the access Reap needs in order to connect to your YouTube account.

You may see permissions such as:

  • Manage your YouTube videos

  • Manage your YouTube account

Select the requested permissions, then click Continue.

Approve the requested YouTube permissions, then click Continue to finish connecting your account.

Why Reap requests this access

These permissions are required for Reap to support YouTube scheduling and publishing features.

They allow Reap to:

  • connect your YouTube channel

  • publish videos to your channel

  • schedule videos for future publishing

  • manage the publishing workflow inside Reap

Without approving these permissions, Reap will not be able to schedule or publish content to your YouTube channel.

Is it safe to continue?

If you started the YouTube connection flow directly from Reap, this is the expected temporary Google prompt during our current transition.

You can continue by following the steps above and approving the requested permissions.

How long will this last?

This is temporary and should only last for a few days.

Once the transition is completed, Google should stop showing this warning during the YouTube connection flow.
